High schools in North Dakota and Minnesota competed in writing, design, photography, cartoon, magazine and broadcast in the annual Red River Interscholastic Press Association at MSU Moorhead. The competition is sponsored by member schools in RRIPA and the Department of Mass Communications at MSUM. Winners and their categories are:
Adjunct and professor emeritus David Ferreira will be the headliner for a Musical May Basket show at the Fargo Theatre Sunday, May 1 at 4 p.m. This Musical May Basket includes the nostalgic, romantic sounds of the FM Kicks Big Band and David Ferreira’s tribute to the songs of Frank Sinatra.

History professor Sean Taylor, Fergus Falls, Minn., heads for Norway in August to study and teach for 10 months as a Fulbright scholar. The award covers all expenses and provides a stipend.
