After a nearly year-long conversation among and between faculty and administration, the temporarily named “College of Humanities and Social Sciences” has decided on the appellation as an official one. The name is intended both to identify its disciplines with traditional categories and to suggest affinities between humanities and social science areas.
Oscar Flores and TJ Hansen, Economics, presented a paper at the Eastern Economics Association in Boston, Mass. Flores and Hansen attempt to explain differences in freshman retention rates across public, four-year institutions in the nation.
Mathematics major, Josiah Reiswig, was accepted to and will be participating in an REU at the Summer Undergraduate Mathematical Sciences Research Institute at Miami University in Ohio.
