Curtis Gudmundson to receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Award

Curtis Gudmundson, founder of Milestone Hotel Investments, will receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Professional Achievement Award. Gudmundson started his entrepreneurial pursuits during college, first as a rock band promoter and later as the owner of Mama Mia’s Pizza in Fargo. The two L.B. MSUM alumni win Webby award for Yearbook Yourself website

A team that includes three graduates from Minnesota State University Moorhead has won a 2010 Webby Award and a Webby People’s Voice Award. Bridget Charon, Andrew Charon and Barrett Haroldson worked on the popular YearbookYourself.com website. The site, which allows users to insert their own faces into old yearbook photos, earned both the critical and popular nods in the Webby’s “Best Use of Social Media” category. Physics grad to speak on geothermal and other renewable energy resources

Heather Sanden, a 2008 MSUM physics graduate, will speak about the complex relationship between energy use and its impact on the environment in a talk titled “Energy and Physics around the World: Geothermal and other renewable energy resources from Iceland to Moorhead” Tuesday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Science Lab Building 118.
