Hest talks on storytelling, marriage at dean’s lecture March 4

Dr. Theresa Hest, Communication Studies, will present a Dean’s Lecture from 1:30-2:45 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in MacLean 181. Her topic is “What is the role of storytelling in a marriage?” Based on data collected from 177 married couples, this presentation will explore the forms of marital stories, the functions of these stories, and the key role of storytelling in relational maintenance. The event is free and open to the public.

TCU announces collaborative grant funds for faculty, staff & students

In an effort to promote new collaborative initiatives, Tri-College University announces the availability of one-time start-up grant funds for faculty, staff and students. TCU has found that through sharing resources, a greater number of people can be positively impacted and efficiencies readily obtained. Free Service Learning and Technology Webinars Feb. 9 & 12th

These webinars appear to be free (sponsored by Center for Teaching and Learning) and viewable on your office computer. Looks like registration closes on February 8th for the Feb. 9th presentation and Feb. 11th for the Feb. 12th presentation. Next Tuesday and Friday CTL is sponsoring two webinars in collaboration with Minnesota Campus Compact. The topics are service learning in online courses and civic engagement through technology.
