Steve Grineski, STL, and Carole Braschayko, Elementary Inclusive Education major and Honors Apprentice, had a manuscript published in The Sophist’s Bane: A Journal of the Society of Professors of Education. The article is titled, “Speaking out about corporate school reform.” Braschayko presented this work at the undergraduate conferences on the Moorhead and Mankato campuses.
MSUM was host to the 8th Undergraduate Research in the Molecular Sciences Meeting (URMS8) on Oct. 4 and 5. Doris Walker Dalhouse, Profesor Emerita, STL and A. Derick Dalhouse, Psychology, presented a paper in August at The 18th European Conference on Reading in Jonkoping, Sweden. The title of the paper was, “Reader response and instructional implications: using children’s books about immigrants/refugees with struggling readers.”
Merrie Sue Holtan, Communication Studies, recently won first place for travel writing, and honorable mention awards in sports and home writing from the National Federation of Presswomen. The awards were presented in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the national conference. Holtan has served as president of North Dakota Professional Communicators for the past two years.
