Exhibition runs November 5, 2026 – January 4, 2027
Bachmeier had a solo exhibition “Conservation Through Clay” debut at the NDMOA in 2022. The museum purchased several works from that exhibition that are now on display in the current “Book Launch” exhibition and will be featured in a new Permanent Collection Catalog being published January 2027. The North Dakota Museum of Art’s permanent collection has grown at a tremendous pace. Over the last five years the Museum has collected works from new and underrepresented areas. For example, the spring exhibition Re-arming Language: Post-Graffiti Artistshighlighted the work of graffiti and street artists from across the United States. The Museum now owns roughly fifty works in this genre. Additionally, the Museum has acquired several works by Inuit artists from Kinngait, Nunavut, Canada as well as African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and African artists to expand and enhance its contemporary global collection. The Museum has also continued to build on its traditional areas of strength including contemporary Native American art, textiles, works by self-taught artists, as well as new paintings, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and prints.
