Troy Schmidt Named Interim Director of Counseling Services

Effective August 1, Troy Schmidt is serving as Interim Director of MSUM Counseling Services. In this role, Troy will provide leadership and oversight for the department, supporting its continued delivery of mental health services, wellness education, and case management resources for MSUM students.

Troy will also coordinate MSUM’s partnership with Sollera, formerly the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, which provides services for students who have experienced sexual violence or intimate partner violence. Sollera therapists will be available on campus for appointments on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons throughout the academic year.

Troy will serve in the Interim Director role while the university conducts a search for a full-time Director of Counseling Services in the coming months. He will continue serving as Assistant Dean of Students during this interim period.
