Demi-Lee Carlisle’s Undergraduate Economic Research Selected for Publication by Issues in Political Economy
Dragon Economics and Business Analytics 2025 graduate, Demi-Lee Carlisle, joins an elite group whose undergraduate research will be published in Issues in Political Economy in July 2026. Carlisle’s econometric analysis, “The Cost of Loadshedding on the South African Economy,” provides an estimate of monetary losses to the South African economy from the energy management strategy of rolling blackouts. Under the faculty mentorship of Professors Oscar Flores and T. J. Hansen, Carlisle is the twelfth MSUM Economics major to publish research in an undergraduate journal since 2011.
