Oceanarium/Planetarium Collaboration is for the FISHES!
Stars to Starfish is the latest collaborative effort between the Oceanarium and Planetarium. This program combines the best of both through a unique experience. With one ticket, guests get to stop first at the Oceanarium for their “Feeding Frenzy”.
Feeding Frenzy: Step behind the scenes for an exclusive look at what it takes to care for the oceanarium’s incredible marine residents. This guided experience follows a typical feeding routine, giving participants a close-up view of animal care in action. You’ll learn how specialized diets are prepared, discover fun facts about the species in our care, and a lucky few will have the chance to assist in feeding select animals. It’s an immersive, hands-on adventure perfect for anyone curious about life beneath the waves.
Next, they are off to the Planetarium for an exclusive fulldome feature show: Stars to Starfish.
Planetarium experience: In this immersive underwater and space adventure, we join Starry the Starfish and Red the Lobster as they compare the exploration of our universe with the exploration of our Earth’s oceans. This program underscores the importance of our home’s last great resource.
Afterward, we will take a cosmic tour through our own night sky as we see it from right here in Moorhead. We will find some familiar constellations you can go out and look for yourselves!
Through this collaboration, the Oceanarium and Planetarium offer the region an experience unlike any other. It has resonated well with many already, and we intend to continue offerings at least through the end of the semester. Get your tickets now!
