Simplified D2L Brightspace Navigation
On 5/19/25 a simplified navigation bar was implemented on all course homepages in D2L Brightspace.
The revised navigation bar will display the most frequently used tools by students and faculty members across the colleges and universities of Minnesota State. All other, less frequently used, tools will be available under the heading, Other Tools. Links to campus specific course-level support resources will be available under the heading, Resources. Finally, for those enrolled as an instructor of the course, the heading Course Tools will provide direct links to the mostly commonly used tools under the Course Administration page. This update will also include the addition of an Instructor Profile widget that will provide students information about the instructor on the homepage of the course.
Note: Instructors desiring to implement the new navigation bar before 5/19 OR wishing to use the older navigation for summer 25 can do so by providing the course details in an IT support ticket.
