Dr. Kenyon Williams Publishes Article About Sabbatical Experiences

Dr. Kenyon Williams, Professor of Percussion and Chair of the School of Performing Arts, spent part of his spring sabbatical exploring travel abroad options for MSUM students.  During this time, he participated in a steel drum workshop led by Grammy-winning artist Andy Narell on the island of St. Lucia which was also attended by musicians of all ages from around the world.  He chronicled his experience in an article entitled “The Laborie Steelpan Workshop:  The Birth and Growth of a New Pan Experience” which was published in this month’s issue of “Percussive Notes,” the journal of the Percussive Arts Society, the world’s largest professional percussion organization, of which Dr. Williams is a past member of the Advisory Board.
