School of Art Professor Anna Sigridur Arnar Installs Exhibition at the American Swedish Institute

Anna Sigrídur Arnar, School of Art, has been working on an exhibition installation this week at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. The work is part of the ASI’s annual holiday exhibition that features rooms from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and the Sami people. This year’s theme focuses on the magic of winter, traditions, myths, and folklore. Arnar worked on three rooms that represent Iceland, the first of which focuses on winter legends of the “Hidden People” and another room features films by Dr. Kyja Kristjánsson Nelson, Interim Dean, College of Arts & Humanities at MSUM. Kristjánsson Nelson is a third generation Icelander and her films are in part a testimonial to the enduring power of storytelling among the Icelandic immigrants who settled in North America. The exhibition opens November 11th and runs through January 7th. For Dragons that find themselves in Minneapolis, take time to view the exhibition: https://asimn.org/exhibition/once-upon-a-mansion-asis-73rd-holiday-experience/
