SEGIP Member Services Changes

SEGIP rolls out call center changes to improve services

Beginning Feb. 6, 2023 your last name no longer determines your contact at the State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP). Instead, call the main SEGIP Member Services Call Center number—651-355-0100—for help with questions about insurance eligibility, enrollment, benefits, and billing.

All calls will continue to be answered by a real person and the goal is to get you the help you need in just one call.

What’s new?

  • Callers will be directed to a member services representative who has the expertise to get you the help you need.
  • You’ll be asked to verify your identity by providing your date of birth, in addition to your employee ID and full name.
  • Any action taken during a call will be logged and stored for reference by agents who assist with your future inquires.
  • Send all inquiries and document submissions directly to the SEGIP email address, segip.mmb@state.mn.us. They will be processed and placed in your file.

What has ended?

  • The current A-Z structure where you contact a state program administrator based on the first letter of your last name will no longer apply.
  • There will no longer be direct dial access to a representatives’ dedicated phone number. Callers will receive a voicemail response directing them to 651-355-0100 for assistance.
  • Emails to individual representatives will be forwarded to the general SEGIP mailbox for assistance.

These changes are designed to improve SEGIP response times, the customer service experience and member satisfaction. They also allow the SEGIP team to measure the impact on outcomes to continually improve how they work.
