Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Erica Evans
Meet MSUM’s new associate professor in the School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership, Erica Evans. Even though she teaches online courses, Erica still looks forward to seeing students around campus!
Start date: August 26, 2019
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I am an alumni here. I was a freshman 17 years ago, so to be back as a faculty member is kind of surreal. I also completed the RN to BSN program here that I am now teaching in!
Q: What is one thing that surprised you about MSUM?
A: I feel like I never left. The atmosphere on campus, the excitement. Everything just looks and feels the same. It was very comfortable to slide back in!
Q: What is your go-to productivity trick?
A: Making a really good to-do list and having things I know for sure I have to get done today and what things can wait until tomorrow. Otherwise, I could stay up all night working.
Q: What energizes you at work?
A: The people; not only the faculty and staff but just having the students on campus. Even though I don’t have students in the classroom, I can still go to the CMU and get a cup of coffee and be surrounded by students and their energy!
Q: If you could trade places with someone for a day who would it be?
A: I would trade places with one of my children. They are both in grade school, so I would love to see grade school through the eyes of an adult. The things that seemed so tough at the time, are now small from an adult’s perspective.
Once a Dragon, always a part of the #DragonFamily. We are excited you are back, Erica!
