Andrew Louwagie Gordon, Updating Java applets using python notebooks. With new updates to the most modern browsers, Java has become obsolete and is being discontinued. Since some of the university’s simulations are written in Java, the simulations needed to be re-written. The presentation is about the python notebooks that have been used to remake the simulations, the obstacles to writing the code, and the methods and widgets used to complete the simulations. There will also be a demonstration of the simulations to show what can be done over a summer using these notebooks.

Salim Thomas, to be announced.
