School of Business recognizes 22 students
Twenty-two MSUM students received $19,800 in scholarships at the annual School of Business banquet Thursday, April 29. The School of Business includes programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Management & International Business. MSUM School of Business has earned the prestigious AACSB International accreditation. AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education and has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business schools. Students receiving scholarships are: Chelsea Albertson, Candace Boyer, Suzanne Boyer, Jennifer Fetting, Becky Schauland, Stephanie Kilber, Valerie Ellingson, Josh Buetow, Kalie Beukelman, Matthew Polish, Ashley Rasmussen, Jason Grunewald, Justin Arneson, Eva Asplin, Thomas George, Laura Lien, Brianna Cossette, Zachary Lukes, Stephanie Mahrer, Michael Russell, Maria Evglevskikh, Jacob Jenson.
To be eligible for School of Business scholarships, students must be enrolled in a School of Business major and must meet specific grade point average and completed credits criteria. MSUM’s School of Business is able to award School of Business scholarships annually to our students because of the generosity of alumni, professional organizations, and private individuals.
Three students received a R.D. Koppenhaver Exam Scholarships sponsored through the North Dakota CPA Society Foundation and Eide Bailly: Justin Arneson, Josh Buetow and Jennifer Fetting.
School of Business and Economics Department Research Prize is a cash award to a student(s) who authors or co-authors a paper with a faculty member and whose paper is deemed of publishable quality in an academic or professional journal, or of likely acceptance for presentation at a professional or academic conference. This year’s recipient was Zachary Lukes.
The accounting faculty each year nominates an outstanding accounting graduate. Peter Wiederholt was the recipient of the 2009-10 outstanding accounting graduate award.
