Planetarium awarded $9,000 from Lake Region Arts Council

​The MSUM Planetarium has been awarded $9,000 to undertake a large-scale mural project.

The MSUM Planetarium, Youth Educational Services (YES) and MSUM School of Art, will plan and execute several large-scale astronomically and educationally based glow-in-the dark murals for the entrance and inside of the MSUM Planetarium. The large scale works will fill over 100 linear feet of wall space. We will accomplish this project by including apprenticeship opportunities for MSUM Art students and volunteer hours from the YES alternative high school students. Work will begin this summer and extend through AY 17-18.
