Candidates for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs have been selected
Candidate interviews started this week, April 4. Candidate Laura Bayless’s public forum will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7th in CMU 101.
Dr. Laura A. Bayless is currently the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (chief student affairs officer) at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She previously served as the interim vice president for Student Life at Caldwell University in Caldwell, N.J.; vice president of Student Affairs at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and dean of students and assistant dean for Student Affairs at Longwood University in Virginia. Bayless earned her BA in speech communications/mass media from Denison University; MS in college student personnel services at Miami University of Ohio, and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech. Bayless serves on the Governing Board of ACPA: College Student Educators International. She has been honored as a Diamond Honoree by the ACPA Foundation, the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Higher Education Program at Virginia Tech, and the Award for Excellent Practice-Senior Level, Commission for Administrative Leadership, in addition to being recognized by students on several campuses. She is a frequent presenter, consultant, and podcaster.
Candidate Michael Sach’s public forum will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8th in CMU 101.
Michael C. Sachs is the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the East Stroudsburg of the University of Pennsylvania, one of 14 universities in the Pennsylvania System of Higher Education. Mr. Sachs earned both his Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor Degrees from the University of Southern California, along with a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University. In addition to his academic degrees, he is licensed attorney in the state of New York, a Certified Compliance and Ethics Profession, and holds a certificate in supervision from Cornell University. A multiple award-winning public speaker, Mr. Sachs has made presentations at numerous institutions and conferences across the country on a variety of topics, including student engagement, student learning outcomes, health and safety, and many others. He is particularly dedicated to such areas as student engagement and learning, staff professional development, and developing modalities for the objective analysis of issues during the decision-making process. Mr. Sachs is a firm believer that fun and humor are important keys to the success of any project. He is dedicated to helping both students and staff achieve their professional objectives through respect and developing organizations that focus on inclusion, collaboration, and educational excellence.
