Dr. Ximena-Suarez-Sousa and Dr. Boyd Bradbury accepted for publication
A manuscript entitled, The Validity of Utilizing the National School Lunch Program as Proxy for Students’ Socioeconomic Status and its Impact on Academic Performance, by Dr. Ximena-Suarez-Sousa, lead author, and Dr. Boyd Bradbury has been accepted for publication with SAGE Research Methods Cases.
This mixed-methods explanatory study focused on analyzing the impact that National School Lunch Program eligibility had on A) scholastic performance, B) the results of the Appraisal of Academic Influences Inventory developed by Bradbury and Suarez-Sousa in 2012, and C) the rates of absenteeism, tardiness, and disciplinary referrals within large groups of American Indian and White students living on or near the White Earth Indian Reservation in grades 3 through 12. An April 2017 publication date is scheduled.
