MSUM wins Salvation Army’s Mascot Challenge

Article originally published on Inforum.com. FARGO – Kernel Cobb, Thundar and Scorch and Torch competed in a Mascot Challenge Saturday at Scheels All Sports here to raise the most money for The Salvation Army.

Kernel Cobb from Concordia College, Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Scorch and Torch and Thundar from North Dakota State University rang bells for the Red Kettle campaign from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Dragons Scorch and Torch came out on top, raising $1,646, according to a press release from The Salvation Army.

Thundar collected $1,170 and Kernel Cobb, $797, bringing the total money raised to $3,614.

Funds raised from the Mascot Challenge benefit The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign, which helps people in Cass and Clay counties.
