FLU SHOT CLINIC – Thursday, October 1
MSUM will be hosting a Flu Shot Clinic to offer employees a quick and easy way to get flu vaccinations. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness that spreads from person-to-person and can cause a person to miss work and other obligations. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year!
Seasonal flu (injectable and nasal spray) and Tdap vaccinations will be available for state employees on Thursday, October 1st in Owens Hall, Room 207 from 7:00am to 2:00pm. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the vaccination if employees present their Minnesota Advantage Health Plan insurance card. Without a valid insurance card or for employees who do not have health insurance through the State of Minnesota, the flu vaccine will cost $32.00, nasal spray vaccination will cost $35.00 and the Tdap vaccination will cost $57.00. (These costs must be paid for with cash only – please bring exact change as nurses do not bring change with them on clinic day).
With supervisor’s approval, work time can be used to attend the clinic. The vaccinations are offered on a “walk-in” basis, no appointment is necessary. Employees should print and complete a Vaccination Consent for Influenza Form to bring with to the Flu Shot Clinic. Short sleeve shirts or clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm is encouraged.
