Apple updates expected to occur in January
Faculty/Staff –
Last month Apple released OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” via the Mac App Store. As previously communicated, the Information Technology department has been performing tests to confirm the supported services are working as designed. As has been reported by Apple, some devices have experienced issues with wireless connections and email issues. Apple has already released an update to remediate these issues without complete success. Using Apple’s history on updates, we are expecting a much larger update to come out sometime in January which we hope will resolve the issues completely. At this time we are recommending that the campus community hold off on this upgrade until updates have resolved all the known issues that could impact those services you use. Information Technology will continue to track Apple’s progress and communicate with the campus community by January 9th to keep you updated on that progress.
When will I be able to upgrade?
After the MSUM IT department has completed its testing and confirmed that those services and applications are working as designed, we will send a communication out informing of that.
What if I don’t know how to upgrade?
The communication informing of the completion of the testing will also include information on how you can contact the Helpdesk to start that process.
