Geography professor invited to present at the Canadian Transportation Research Forum

Dr. Paul Sando, Associate Professor of Geography, has been invited and accepted to present at the Canadian Transportation Research Forum’s annual meeting, June 10-12, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His presentation/article is titled, “Railroads, Adaptability, Competition and the Shuttle Train (or Food, Crude, and the Railroads).” The focus of the research on the railroad’s addition of large oil movements out of the Williston basin to their normal freight volumes and what this means in terms of adaptation to the new traffic, and sustainability of operations.
