Belated Welcome to the Dragon Community: Kimberly Voxland
We missed welcoming Kimberly Voxland in June as the newest senior human resources business partner. In this role, Kimberly works with employees to ensure their concerns are being heard and met. Ranging from mediation in their communication with coworkers to their compensation, Kimberly problem solves and supports our faculty and staff.
Q: What unique experiences or skills from your past job do you bring to Moorhead?
A: I have an extensive background in HR. I have experience in K-12, private sector, manufacturing, and union environments. These unique experiences will help me heighten my skills in this new role.
Q: How do you prefer to start your workday?
A: Logging into my computer and looking at my daily cartoon, For or For Worse. Then I get going with a cup of coffee and review my tasks list for the day.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I like to hang out with my kids and friends, and go off-roading with my husband in our Jeep.
Q: What is one thing most people might not know about you?
A: I am kind of an outdoors person. I like to go exploring and find hidden local places.
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: My older children have gone here, and I currently have a younger son enrolled. My older kids are still in the area.
Q: What is your trick to surviving Minnesota winters?
A: I don’t go outside unless I absolutely have to.
