2026 Student Latin Dance Series: Bachata, Salsa & Merengue
Ready to try something new, meet new people, and experience the energy of Latin dance? Join our beginner-friendly four-week Latin Dance Series and learn the fundamentals of Bachata, Salsa, and Merengue while exploring the music, culture, and traditions behind each style.
Whether you have never stepped onto a dance floor or are looking to build your confidence, this series offers a welcoming environment to learn new skills, make friends, and connect with others through music and movement. Each session includes hands-on instruction in rhythm, footwork, partner dancing, turns, and styling, with no previous dance experience required.
The series culminates in a special live music experience on September 28, 2026, featuring K-Libre24, one of the Twin Cities’ premier Latin bands. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the sounds of Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Plena while putting their new dance skills into practice at an exciting community dance concert in the CMU Ballroom.
No experience or partner required.
