Dr. Wooyang Kim Delivers Special Lecture on Korean Start-ups’ U.S. Market Entry at a Globally Recognized University

Dr. Wooyang Kim (Professor of Marketing, Paseka School of Business) has been invited to deliver a special lecture at Hanyang University, ERICA campus. Hanyang University is a globally recognized institution (QS World University Ranking #159, top 1.5% worldwide), and its ERICA campus is particularly known for its strong integration of business, research, and industry collaboration, including partnerships with governmental organizations in South Korea.

The lecture, scheduled for May 12, 2026, is titled “The U.S. Market Entry for Korean Start-Ups: Myth and Reality.” It addresses key issues in foreign market entry, branding, marketing strategy, and business expansion, with an emphasis on practical guidelines and actionable recommendations for small businesses. The audience includes both faculty and start-up companies, and this event is sponsored by the Campus Innovation Park Agency at Hanyang University ERICA, a South Korean government-funded initiative supported by the Korean Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Land, and the Ministry of SMEs.

This engagement reflects his current role as a mentor and subject expert with SCORE, affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration, as well as a consultant and business partner for several South Korean quasi-governmental organizations. These academic–industry engagement activities align with MSUM’s strategic direction by improving our visibility and contributing to our growth locally and internationally. His continued activities have contributed to leading new curriculum development with colleagues and synthesizing real-world experiential learning opportunities in business, such as “Start Your Own Business” in 2019 and “Business in Asia” in 2025, co-initiated with Ralf Mehnert-Meland, J.D.
