Student Employee & Supervisor of the Year Nominations are now open!
Supervisors of Student Employees,
Each year, the second week of April marks National Student Employment Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the important contributions of student employees and the supervisors who support their growth and success.
Student employees provide invaluable service to our campus with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. This celebration offers a meaningful opportunity to show appreciation for their work. To help you recognize your student employees , and their supervisors, we’ve created three ways to participate:
-
Submit a nomination for Student Employee of the Year
-
Deadline: March 23 at 4:30 p.m.
Do you have a student employee who has gone above and beyond this year? Consider nominating them for Student Employee of the Year. Click here for details and nomination instructions.
Submit a nomination for Supervisor of the Year
-
Deadline: March 23 at 4:30 p.m.
Help us recognize outstanding supervisors who demonstrate exceptional commitment and leadership in supporting student employees. Student employees and department leaders are encouraged to click here to submit nominations.
-
RSVP deadline: April 3
Supervisors are invited to pick up cookies and thank-you cards to share with their student employees during National Student Employment Week. Please RSVP here by April 3 so we can prepare the appropriate quantities.
We also encourage supervisors to celebrate in ways that feel meaningful for their teams. Here are a few low- or no-cost ideas:
-
Host a casual coffee or snack break with conversation prompts
Host a small office awards ceremony with fun categories such as best attendance, strongest customer service, or most organized
Have supervisors share how student employees contribute to larger departmental goals
Have full-time staff write personalized thank-you notes to student employees
Share appreciation on social media or create a short recognition video
Create a Wall of Fame featuring photos, compliments, or thank-you notes
Do a “skills showcase” where students share a project, process improvement, or success story
Thank you for the important role you play in making student employment a meaningful developmental experience.
