MSUM Oceanarium publishes its first research paper on Ocean Literacy
MSUM Biology EEB majors Katie Hanson and Amber Sullivan have published their research on the educational effectiveness of Ocean Literacy programming in the journal Current, The Journal of Marine Education. This study was based on the Junior Aquarists Camp for Kids (JACK) taught at MSUM’s Oceanarium. JACK has become the most popular activity in MSUM’s College or Kids and Teens offered each summer. This article is especially significant because it is Katie Hanson’s fifth peer-reviewed publication based on data she collected as an undergraduate at MSUM. That makes her the most-published Biology major in MSUM history. Moreover, Katie completed her 4-year degree in only three years! The title and link to the full article is appended below.
