Scorch texting chatbot launching this fall

A new texting chatbot named Scorch will be available to undergraduate Dragons throughout the year. Minnesota State Moorhead is launching the service to better support students, answer questions, and communicate important information. It is also an excellent way for the university to hear your feedback and create a great Dragon community! 

Undergraduate students can expect to receive a welcome text message from Scorch on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Scorch will then send occasional check-in questions. 

You can also text Scorch 24/7 with any questions you may have about the university. When you get a message from Scorch, save the number to your contacts. Reply to previous messages and begin chatting. Scorch will share helpful resources or connect you with a staff member who can assist you. 

To ensure you receive Scorch’s text messages, check the cell phone number we have on file in your Student Success Snapshot on your MyMSUM homepage. Email Scorch@mnstate.edu to update your cell phone number if it isn’t correct.
