Art-a-Fair welcomes 300+ area high schoolers
Today, MSUM School of Art’s annual Art-a-Fair will welcome 300+ students and teachers from high schools in three states. These students will spend the day attending workshops, selecting from topics including digital design, beginning wheel throwing, caricature art, sculpture, screen printing, advanced painting, body art, comics and illustration, art therapy, media art, music sessions, creative career possibilities and more. AI in Art sessions will be available for attendees along with current MSUM students.
Juried exhibit awards ceremony
A panel of professors has juried the exhibition sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Fargo. They will award over $1,000 in prize money at a ceremony Friday, Feb. 7, from 11:50 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Hansen Theatre. Student winners will be announced in eight categories: painting, drawing, 2D mixed media, printmaking, functional pottery and crafts, sculpture, photography, and media arts. Prizes will be awarded to the best North Dakota and Minnesota schools. You can view the exhibit today in the Center for the Arts Diederich Art Gallery from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
