More than 360 MSUM students to graduate Dec. 19

Minnesota State University Moorhead will award degrees to more than 360 students, including 139 graduate students, during three separate ceremonies for fall commencement on Thursday, Dec. 19, in the university’s Roland Dille Center for the Arts Hansen Theatre. Note the change of location from the previous fall ceremony to 801 13th St. S. Moorhead, Minn.
Three ceremonies will be divided by college.
- 9:30 to 11 a.m. – College of Business, Analytics & Communication | Student speaker: Jaxson Waugh, a project management major from Watertown, S.D.
- 1 to 2:30 p.m. – College of Education & Human Services and College of Arts & Humanities | Student speaker: Mary Rupp, a double major in criminal justice and psychology from Campbell, Minn.
- 3:30 to 5 p.m. – College of Science, Health & the Environment | Student speaker: Paighton Volk, a biology major with an emphasis in medical and cellular biology, Bismarck, N.D.
The alumni speaker for all three ceremonies will be Gabe Dannenbring, a 2019 health education graduate who teaches 7th-grade science and coaches in Sioux Falls, S.D. With a thriving online following of over 2 million across his social media platforms, Gabe has become a trusted voice in education, sharing thought-provoking insights on teaching, personal growth, and cultural topics.
Beyond the classroom, Gabe’s influence spans multiple arenas. He starred in the Netflix show Surviving Paradise and co-hosts Teachers Off Duty, the nation’s largest teacher-focused podcast. He is a regular contributor to News Nation’s Morning in America, offering expert commentary on critical issues in education.
