Fall Housekeeping Items from Human Resources

Fall Housekeeping Items from Human Resources

We hope you’re having a wonderful semester so far! As we are well into the fall semester, the office of Human Resources would like to share some important updates and reminders.

Review Your Address & Contact Information in Workday & Employee Self-Service
Please ensure your address and personal contact information is correct within Workday. If you’ve moved states please ensure this change is reflected within Workday and within Employee Self-Service. Please also ensure your state tax information is updated in Employee Self-Service accordingly.

Review Your Driver’s License Verification Status
Did you know that if you are planning to drive for any University business whether the vehicle is state-owned, leased, rented or personal you need to complete the Driver’s License Verification form at least annually? This includes any activity where an individual is participating on behalf of or representing the University in some capacity. In addition, the MnDOT defensive driving course should be completed and a copy of the completion certificate should be provided to your supervisor.
    > If you drive on university business, please ensure that you have submitted a Driver’s License Verification request. Once submitted, please ensure that your request is Approved. Please note that your Driver’s Verification will expire if your driver’s license expires.

Additional information on Driver’s License Verification can be found here:
    > Driver’s License Verification Policy
    > Driver Verification Form
    > MnDOT Defensive Driving Course
Your Safety at Work: Injury Reporting
It’s that time of year when we see an increase in slips and falls due to weather. As a friendly reminder, employees and their supervisors must report ALL work related injuries, incidents, or illnesses to Public Safety at 218-477-2449 [even if you do not plan to seek medical care or miss time from work].
    > The State of MN requires that all injuries are reported within 24 hours of the incident AND that the necessary incident report forms are completed and provided to HR as soon as possible.
    > Please visit our HR Workers’ Compensation webpage for links to the required forms, and more.
    Performance Evaluations
Annual performance evaluations for all employees are due by the last business day of the calendar year (12/31/2024). Templates for performance evaluations can be found on the Human Resources webpage.
    > We encourage all employees to complete a Self Evaluation and share this with their supervisors to start a conversation about setting goals and development for the next year.
    > During the time of the performance evaluation, employees and supervisors should also review their position descriptions and make any necessary updates. Completed, fully signed performance evaluations and position descriptions can be sent to the Human Resources Office at: HR@mnstate.edu

Review and Update MSUM Campus Directory Profile
As we welcome new Dragons and celebrate Dragon faces in new places, please take some time to review and update your directory profile. Department designees should also review the directory and let HR know if there are any employees who should be removed from their page. The information on the Contact Us section for each department’s MSUM webpage is connected to the directory.
    2025 Open Enrollment (October 24, 2024 – November 13, 2024)
2025 Open Enrollment is happening now until November 13, 2024. We encourage all employees to review their current benefit elections during open enrollment as action may be required.

Deadline Extended: Required Annual Training – Now Due December 12, 2024
The Minnesota State required annual training program for all employees is now available in Employee Self-Service. The seven modules in the course promote a safe and inclusive work environment and will help you understand the policies and expectations unique to our system of higher education. All employees will need to complete the training modules by December 12, 2024. Please complete all modules assigned to you during scheduled work hours.
