Franklin Ugochukwu’s Journey Through Art and Teaching

Franklin Ugochukwu came from Nigeria to MSUM in 2014 because of the university’s affordability. After graduating in 2020 with a degree in studio art, he solidified his art business and started teaching art classes at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo.

“Painting really helped me develop discipline and accountability, which has helped me in other aspects of my life,” he says.

To stay connected to campus, Franklin collaborated on an art project with MSUM students and will return to MSUM this week for Homecoming (Oct. 12) to teach a student painting class.
