Faculty & Staff Microsoft Windows computer encryption
MSUM IT is making a change in the management and monitoring of the Microsoft Windows computers BitLocker Encryption used by faculty and staff. This change may require you to start an encryption process on your computer.
What needs to be done? If you do get the notice “BitLocker drive encryption is required to help secure the data on drive C:”, please proceed with the drive encryption. You will have up to 7 days to postpone the process. The process usually takes less than 1.5 hours to run and can be done while you are using the computer.
When will this take place? Oct 10th, 2024 will be the start date of the change. If your computer requires this process, you will receive the notice after your computer checks in with the management server.
