Ad & PR alum working at center of presidential campaign

Cutting her teeth as a senatorial communications director, 2017 alum Lexi Byler built strong relationships with Minnesota media and communities. Now, she’s the communications director in a presidential campaign that addresses both state and national concerns.

This larger and faster scale of work requires navigating constant national and local media requests, working with a diverse range of stakeholders, and resonating with voters of different values across the state and country. To develop and execute such a strategy, Lexi says that she needs to be able “to work under pressure and think on my feet.”

Being adaptable and resilient are skills she acquired as an advertising and public relations student at MSUM. Her love for crafting compelling messages began here, too.

“My favorite part of the job is telling a story that inspires and mobilizes people.”
