From Dragons to RedHawks: Karl Hoium’s Journey
MSUM alum Karl Hoium began as a mass communications major. After having conversations with Larry Scott, a legend in the Athletics department, he felt a pull towards the world of sports information.
With a love for baseball in mind, Karl began working for the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks and has been their vice president and general manager for 17 years. Karl works with player signings and travel arrangements, managing staff and ticket sales.

MSUM’s Night at the RedHawks was initiated by Karl and Laura Caroon, assistant director of engagement for the MSUM Foundation, as an evening to bring together the community for some fun and baseball.
