Biology alum featured in story about monarch butterflies
Patrice Delaney, an ecology and evolutionary biology graduate who also earned a certificate in scientific illustration, was featured in a recent story about monarch butterflies migrating through our region. She is a project manager and biologist at United Prairie Foundation and was the inspiration and creator of the hummingbird sculpture garden on campus.

FARGO — Right now, monarch butterflies are migrating through our region. You might see fewer of them this year as their population dwindles.
A study through the Monarch Conservation Science Partnership shows a 59% decrease from the year before. But, all is not lost. You can help them along their 3,000-mile journey south.
All the flowers monarchs love are at MB Johnson Park thanks to the United Prairie Foundation.
They’re bringing pollinators back to the valley by planting native species anywhere they can.
