Professors Juan Cabanela and Matt Craig Present Tutorial at SciyPy 2024

Juan Cabanela (Computer Science and Information Systems) and Matt Craig (Physics and Astronomy) along with their colleague Nicole Brewer (Arizona State University) presented a tutorial at the SciPy 2024 Conference in Tacoma, Washington on July 8-12.  The SciPy conference typically has about 800 attendees who are Python programmers in a wide range of disciplines, both in academia and industry.  Tutorials are competitively selected for presentation at the conference; roughly 25% of proposals are accepted each year . Their four-hour tutorial covered how to generate applications with web-based interfaces using a variety of available software packages in the Python ecosystem.  They leveraged their previous work on educational and research software they have written for use in introductory astronomy labs and in the astronomy research program on campus.
