MLK Day Celebration – Umoja 55
Monday, January 15 | 6 to 8:30 p.m. | Fargo Theater
Umoja 55: Dreamers Unite showcases the power of dreams, unity, and hope, particularly among the youth, as they present their artistic interpretations of MLK’s vision. The keynote speaker will be MSUM’s Zinnia Marquette, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator.
In the 55 years since Dr. King’s death, our nation continues to advocate for equity, anti-poverty initiatives, and improved education. The youth from the Umoja program lead the challenge for MLK’s life and legacy. Umoja, a Swahili word meaning unity, embodies the support needed to progress and propel our community towards positive change.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion will provide transportation with limited seating. RSVP on Dragon Central.
