Solar Eclipse, Hogwarts and more this fall at MSUM Planetarium

The MSU Moorhead Planetarium will host several shows in October and November that will capture the hearts of young and old alike.

Ibiza will be a night to remember where the musical genius of three local DJs—1PrettyRicky, Easy-B, and Sean—meet the mysteries of the universe on Wednesday, October 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Planetarium will be transformed into the galaxy’s most electrifying dance floor for all music and space lovers.

The Annular Solar Eclipse is on Saturday, October 14, and the MSUM Planetarium will be outside of Nemzek Hall—before and during the Dragons’ Homecoming Football game—from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. with telescopes, eclipse glasses, and activities for the whole family.

Skies Over Hogwarts is an enchanting journey through the world of Harry Potter on Saturdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. October 15-29. The J.K. Rowling stories share much of their content with astronomical objects that we can see through a tour of our sky to find out where our favorite characters got their names.

The MSUM Planetarium will host a group moon observation night on International Observe the Moon Night Saturday, October 21, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Visitors can come to observe the moon with friends and family while learning all about our light in the night sky.

Visitors will encounter engaging stories and irresistible fun while learning about the sky above. With vibrant colors through a fantastic visual simulation on a guided journey through space, anyone who attends will be sure to love these spectacular events.
