Jason Sobolik Presented with NAAC Division II Excellence Award
ORLANDO, Fla. — MSU Moorhead Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services Jason Sobolik was presented with the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) Division II Excellence Award at the association’s annual convention in Orlando, Florida on Monday, June 12.
The Division II Excellence Award is a prestigious annual award given to a compliance professional who is a leader in the compliance field at the Division II level.
“I am very honored and humbled to receive the NAAC Division II Award of Excellence. It is truly amazing to be considered for this award when I consider how many great compliance professionals there are in Division II,” said Sobolik. “When looking at all the past winners you quickly realize how prestigious this award really is. Lastly, I want to thank those who nominated me as well as the Awards Committee who voted for me for this award. I am truly grateful”.
Sobolik has been in his current position since 2012 and was MSUM’s Compliance Coordinator prior to that (beginning in 2009). In total, Sobolik has 20 years of experience in the MSUM athletic department as he was previously an assistant women’s basketball coach (2003-2012) and head softball coach in one of MSUM’s most historic seasons on record (2004).
Sobolik currently serves on the NAAC Division II Committee as well as the NAAC DII Reasonable Standards Committee in addition to serving on the NCAA Division II Committee on Infractions. His work on the NAAC Division II Committee assisted in the creation of the NAAC DII Community page as a place for DII compliance professionals to share documents and rules education presentations.
