Pearson integration with D2L Brightspace

What is happening?

Pearson was initially setup to use integration specification LTI 1.1 (legacy version), which will not be available starting in the Summer 23 term.

Why?

The main driver of this is a newer integration built on LTI 1.3 (commonly called LTI Advantage). It provides a more secure integration that aligns with global standards. The Pearson LTI 1.3 integration is a single integration for Pearson’s Revel, My Lab, and Mastering products.

What should you do?

All instructors using Pearson integrated courses this summer/fall must transition to LTI 1.3 prior to the start of classes.

All LTI 1.1 links for Pearson products will not work if they are copied into courses from Summer 23 forward. You will need to re-create links to Pearson content using the newer integration method and link (LTI 1.3 Advantage). Do NOT copy any Pearson links/content from a previous course into a Summer 23 or future course.
