Rondo Brothers of Moorhead recap
The Rondo Brothers of Moorhead enjoyed a successful visit on campus this week, with 90+ attending the evening talk. The event was dedicated in loving memory of Carl Griffin, who passed away in mid-February. Carl and his great-nephew Juron Griffin worked tirelessly to bring the Rondo Brothers together to share their stories for the betterment of all who heard them.
The Rondo Brothers met with students during breakfast and lunch and visited with ODI and Global Engagement staff. They also visited Dr. Yolanda Aruza’s History 205 Historical Methods class, which was also attended by her HIST 492 Senior Seminar. The Brothers talked about their experiences at MSUM with students having questions relating to Project E-Quality, since Yolanda’s class is researching Project E-Quality. While the Brothers weren’t a part of the program, they were able to share some insights about it.
They also toured the town and campus. “They loved being at MSUM,” said Frank King, Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “They were amazed at how much it had changed. The thing that hit them when they first got here was the poster of the 50th anniversary of CMU. They spent much of their college time at the Comstock Memorial Union, especially the bowling alley.”
