MSUM celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr., at Jan. 17 event

MSUM will commemorate the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr., on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gaede Stage. This year’s annual event focuses on social responsibility – “More than a Dream.”
A pre-event reception will be followed by an MLK reflection with Associate Provost Dr. Frank King, invocation by campus Chaplain Dominique Buchholz, African American spirituals and civil rights music featuring singer/songwriter Kwaician Traylor, and a panel discussing our social responsibility as fellow Dragons and human beings.
Panelists include Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator Zinnia Marquette; 2022 graphic communications graduate Kory Oliver-Powell; Rachel Stone, P’s & Q’s Etiquette CEO and Moorhead Public Schools board member; and Sociology and Criminal Justice Professor Dr. Lee Vigilant. Director of Diversity and Inclusion Jered Pigeon will moderate.
