Sharon “Sherrie” Lee (Klemetson) Erickson, former MSUM Library employee, passed away on April 5, 2022.

Sharon “Sherrie” Lee (Klemetson) Erickson, 79 passed away on April 5, 2022, at Essentia St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Sharon was born on November 7,1942 in Moorhead, MN to Lyle and Norma (Peterson) Klemetson. Sharon grew up in Flom, MN with her brothers Orrie and Doug. She was baptized at Congregational Church in Glyndon, MN in 1943 and later confirmed at Aspelund Lutheran church in 1957. Sharon graduated from Twin Valley High school in 1960. After high school, she completed one year of business school in Fargo, ND.

She married Robert “Bob” Erickson in 1961 and to this marriage were three children: Rob, Michele, and Kim. Sherrie raised her family in Moorhead MN and worked for Moorhead State University in Moorhead for 35 years in various positions. She retired at age 60 in Flom, MN. Three years ago, Sharon moved to Detroit lakes, MN. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening and traveling, especially Europe and Australia. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Sherrie is survived by son: Rob Erickson (Sue Walker), Edina, MN; daughters: Michele (Paul) Martin, Mound, MN and Kim Erickson, Detroit Lakes MN, grandchildren: Evan Martin, Brandon Burns, Ciara Grant, Olivia Erickson, Haley Martin, Madison Erickson, Cole Erickson, great grandchild: Audriana Moses; brother: Douglas “Doug” Klemetson, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Norma Klemetson; brother: Lyle ”Orrie” Klemetson; grandson: Dylan Burns.

Funeral Services will be held at Aspelund Lutheran Church, Flom, MN at a later date
