2022 Dille Distinguished Faculty Lecture
Dr. Lisa Stewart, a psychology professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead, will present a free public lecture titled “Language Matters: Research, Teaching and Relationships” on Thursday, March 24 at 4 p.m. in the Comstock Memorial Union room 105. The talk will also be streamed live on MSUM’s YouTube page.
Stewart’s presentation is an honor given as the recipient of the 2022 Dille Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Award. The lecture will explore her research on language and early literacy and how an appreciation of the power of language has enriched her teaching and relationships.
Stewart is also the director of the school psychology graduate program. She is especially interested in early literacy and language development and developing multi-tiered support systems for children in schools and preschools.
Besides being recognized as the Dille Distinguished Faculty Lecturer, Stewart has also received the Fulbright Specialist Program, Minnesota Psychological Association Graduate Educator of the Year, and the MSUM Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Awards.
Each year, the Dille Fund for Excellence Committee and the President select one MSUM faculty member to receive the Dille Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Award. It is one of the highest honors MSUM grants to faculty.
