Study abroad informational sessions

Interested in Study Abroad?

Attend one of these informational sessions to find out more about a spring 2022 study abroad program, “Children’s Literature in the UK: From J.R.R. Tolkien to J.K. Rowling.” This is a three-credit course designed for education majors, teachers, librarians and MSUM students interested in children’s authors and illustrators. This study abroad course will focus on children’s literature written by authors from England and Scotland from the 1800s to the present.

The travel component of the course will include time in London, Oxford, Edinburgh with day trips to Great Missenden, Ashdown Forest, Newcastle and Kirriemuir. Featured authors and illustrators will include, Beatrix Potter, J.R.R. Tolkien, Roald Dahl, J.M. Barrie, A. A. Milne, Lewis Carroll, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling. E. H. Shepard, Arthur Rackham, and Quentin Blake.

The course will be offered for undergraduate, graduate and continuing studies credit. It will be offered in a hyflex or hybrid mode so students will be able to attend face-to-face or online.
