Fitting, Harms present at virtual Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference
Tammy Fitting, Director of the Math Learning Center, and Tim Harms, Professor of Mathematics Education presented at the virtual Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference held April 16 and 17. Tammy Fitting presented a session titled “Little Things Can Make a Difference” that connected how findings in neuroscience can be addressed in classroom instructional practices. Tim Harms presented a session titled “Desmos for 1st – 5th grade students” that addressed how teachers can reach students where they are at during distance learning through the use of an interactive online tool.
Three mathematics education majors, Jena Backes, Heather Sauve, and Sophia Sowada, attended the virtual conference that contacted over 70 live sessions and 40 on-demand sessions.
