Friday, April 9 1:00-2:00 pm 

Digital Alternatives to Scantron 

This session on Friday, April 9 at 1:00 pm via Zoom will cover alternatives to Scantron for administration and grading of assessments. We will focus on how to create quizzes and exams in D2L Brightspace. We will discuss the various question types available and how to best use the Question Library. We will show how quizzes in D2L can be automatically scored and the grade placed in the D2L Gradebook. We will touch on some alternatives to the D2L quizzes tool, including Microsoft Forms. There will be plenty of time for Q&A. 

 

Thursday, April 22 – Noon-1:00 pm 

Turnitin: Similarity Detection Tool Training 

Join the Office of Online Learning on Thursday, April 22 at noon via Zoom to explore Tunitin. Turnitin, a similarity detection tool, is available for campus-wide use. Faculty interested in utilizing Turnitin for one or more of their writing assignments in any of their courses are invited to join a training session on how to use this tool for assignments within D2L Brightspace.

Online Proctoring: Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor Training 

Join the Office of Online Learning on Friday, April 23 at noon via Zoom to explore Respondus LockDown Browser & Monitor. Respondus Lockdown Browser & Respondus Monitor, online proctoring tools, is available campus-wide for use in any course. Faculty interested in utilizing Respondus LockDown Browser (prohibiting students from opening new tabs or windows in their browser) or Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor (records students while testing and flags suspicious testing behavior through automated processes) are invited to join a training session to learn more about the tool and how it integrates into D2L Brightspace for assessments.
