Managing Chronic Conditions during COVID-19

Everyone is at risk for getting COVID-19 if they come into contact with the virus. Some people are more likely than others to get very sick. People of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. WEBINAR: High-value Care for Chronic Conditions During COVID-19

The use of services to maintain and manage physical and mental health has fallen sharply during the pandemic. People are foregoing immunizations, testing, screening and treatment to prevent illness and to treat chronic and serious conditions. More than 50% of those with a chronic condition have delayed care during the pandemic.

The bad news: Chronic disease places enormous burdens on individuals, families, communities, employers, payers, and governments. A recent Minnesota study shows 10-year projections of health care spending steadily increasing across all chronic conditions and risk factors statewide. This is likely to worsen even further if patients continue to forego care during COVID-19.

The good news: Telehealth, optimizing data to boost outreach efforts, and other innovative solutions can maintain continuity of care for the six in 10 Americans living with at least one chronic disease like heart disease and stroke, COPD, cancer, and diabetes.

Please join us for a fast-paced, complimentary lunch-and-learn webinar to get the latest information about how employers are getting results with high-value chronic disease prevention and care programs. You will:

  • Learn to assess your organization’s risk of doing nothing.
  • Gain information about how Minnesota employers are reengaging employees in needed care.
  • Come away with valuable tools and resources to help your organization act to keep people healthy and reduce pressure on our stressed health care system.
